Do you ever get the feeling that one of these days we’re going to find out that The Woman, The Man, and maybe even The Toddler and The Baby also watch this show?
Monday I’m going to have suspect, changing spots on my calves checked out, especially since cancer runs in the family and took my dad at 64 years old. The day after that, it time for the dental surgeon. I need all the support I can get.
Hello Mega Orbsters. SheMc needs your wonderful support, prayers, purrs, orb bumps and lifts this morning. Here is an update from her: “I might not be on the Comics page for a day or so, life has done it again, I had to take Jan to the hospital today, fluid in his body that his heart is too weak to pump away, fingers crossed they can help & I can bring him home soon, I am really terrified that something is going to happen while the family are in Canada, its scary.” :( ♥
The letter was delivered by an owl and a pussycat … They went to the sea, but it got complicated … And those beautiful pea-green boats are none too fast!! ✨✨
Happy Caturday, orbsters and orbabies! What does the mysterious letter from the sea contain? Will Angora find the courage to defy her father? Tune in tomorrow for the continuing story of Our IX Lives…
So, being a Kat of very little brain, I stumbled sleepily out of bed this morning and poured myself a cup of coffee. Yum Yum started to loudly demand her wake-up treats. You guessed it people! Have I mentioned I was still very sleepy? I tossed a handful of sugar to Yum Yum and put cat treats in my coffee. Neither of us was amused.
Georgia, this brings back sweet memories for me. I grew up in the 60’s. My mother was a devoted fan of As The World Turns. When I was home sick or during the summer I would watch it with her. I didn’t understand all the more adult themes but the moments like in today’s BCN strip are memorable. Loving this! You’ve so creatively presented a soap opera from a cat’s perspective.
Could it be, dare we hope. Maybe he is alive. You just got this letter Kit. How long does it take to get a letter from the sea anyways? Come back Monday to find out more answers.
The 3 kittens have totally integrated into the herd. Bandit took only a day or 2 to get cozy with her siblings. It took Tommy and Sophie about a week to get past the scary new place thing and unfamiliar giant human thing. Once they realized we weren’t going to eat them we started to see more than just a glimpse at meal times.
All the younger cats are playing together with zero conflicts. Even the "adults’, Lewis and Clark have been stampeding around like maniacs. The coolest part of that is that Clark, Mr. Aloof, is now interacting with the giant humans much more often. The kittens have brought out his inner kitten.
But that is a far cry from integrating Tommy and Sophie with the giant humans. Both of them were skittish and would run when approached. If we snagged one and held on, the kitty would settle down within 15-30 seconds of rubbies.
Hey, this is not awful. I mean, I really hate the giant humans, but I guess…hey schmuck, why did you stop?
It took another week or so, but within 2 days of each other it was like a light switch had been flipped. We are now giant indentured servants. Expected to cease everything and pay 100% attention, right now, for as log as required. We are getting nose sniffs and head butts just like we were part of the family. Just so we don’t forget our bottom rung status on the cat social ladder.
Speaking of ladders, they have discovered the giant cat tree leading from the great room to the “balcony”. Yee Hah!
The other 2% is Nina being her normal bitchy self. She has always resented not being a solo cat and she takes it out on the newcomers. It didn’t work on Elvis and Lupin. They basically just acted like she was playing, gave her the middle toe, or completely ignored her. We thought her head was going to explode.
Now she tries to be mean to the kittens, but they look like they will be taking the same route Elvis and Lupin did. But even with that said, she sometimes actually plays with the herd. It’s like she can’t help herself. They thunder past slapping a fur mouse across the floor and she dives in. And catches herself after a minute.
Hey, what am I doing? I hate these guys. Hey. HEY! Bat that thing over here. I mean…uhhh….whatever.
Trixie is still mostly in the bathroom. A big thanks to whoever suggested I trim the fur between her toes. That has made a huge difference. She is keeping her paws mostly clean by herself now.
She ventures out at meal time (of course), raising her voice along with the rest of the crew. We go in and give her rubbies 4-5-6 times a day at least. She rarely flinches anymore and is now arching up into the rubbies. Still no nose touches or head butts, but blinkies happen at least once a day.
Yesterday was Pandora’s feeding day and when I took her out of her box to put her in the feeding tub, she wrapped around my neck, got tangled in my hair, then refused to get untangled for almost 5 minutes. She’s never done that before. She seems to be happier being held than she used to be when we first got her. She’s getting better at coiling around her mouse when she strikes too.

1. GASP! (Not sure why, but it seems to be the thing to do.)
2. We have “Los Gatos” in the SF Bay Area, but this Zip code’s not right. Looks like “Old Cat” is around Irvine or Huntington Beach.
3. LOVE the scallop shell postage stamp!

I figured it all out. Now, follow my train of thought…
*Fact: The Letter is covered in Seaweed and is dripping wet…
*Fact: Postmen/women are a myth, an urban cat legend…
*Fact: Improper hung shelves are a danger to all…
*Fact: Natasha drinks tea…
Therefore (more dramatic music) Captain Nimble IS….oh, my cat Giblet is patting me, he needs some kibble. I will be right back.
