I got greeted by another feline concierge tonight delivering food. Big black long-hair caught a glimpse of me as “mommy” opened the door and froze right in his tracks. I gather it was his regular time to go out for the evening and it just happened to coincide with my arrival.
Requesting paw power, boops, wet nosies, prayers, good karma & anything else in your arsenal for a sad situation.
A sweet lady in her 80’s has developed serious nephritis, and must contemplate what is best for her kitty. That is all we know of the situation. Sis has been suggested as a new mommy (and is willing!). But separating the two will be traumatic for both lady and her little love. And there are others in consideration for new mommyship.
Please, for the kitty’s sake, as well as this good woman, give the kindness that is gaining renown; orb power! We want the best decision for all involved.
<—— This tuxedo appeared at our back door the end of Feb 16yrs ago. We put out a box for a shelter from the ice storm and waited a couple days to see if he would find his way home. Think he was dumped or ran away because his whites (feet, tail, bib, belly) were all dyed pink. I think Kirsch was an ill conceived Valentines Day gift.
Furry-purry hugs, kisses and boops!!! I’ll be praying. And, can all-ya’ll pray for me and my family? We got the news last night that our baby sister died of a massive heart attack, she would’ve been 54 on March 24th…We siblings aren’t as close as a lot of families are, but it still hurts awfully badly and my daughter, who was quite close with her Aunt Suze is devastated.
Happy Hump Day, orbsters and orbabies. Is Elvis morphing into full Dad Cat mode? Tune in tomorrow, same cat time, same cat channel!
I’m off to the neurologist later today to see if the cause of my dizzy spells can be pinned down. I foresee another round of tests in my immediate future.
Robin, Pastis is paying tribute to you yet again today! Have you thought of trying to secure the rights to the word “doom”?? or would that be xxxxxx from the start? ;)
Each woman has a precious baby in her arms! Thank you to the mothers of the world who kept us safe until we were able to brave the void on our own. The man is looking on with a tender expression and very bad hat hair. Thank you, Man for having braved the void to bring the little one in from the cold. Puck has been steadfastly holding the microphone so that it all gets recorded for posterity. Thank you, Puck. Without your silent standby, we might never have known how this sweet little ball of fur arrived at the Big Pink House.
I too need some boops and paw power. Tomorrow is the first anniversary of my beloved Mother In Law passing away. She was more than a mother in law, she was a real mother to me. I need a kitty purr bad. She was the most caring and warm person, and such love for all even when Alzheimers and dementia robbed her of so much she was still so gracious.Bless you all for being such a warm and loving group of people.
Put your eyebrow horns way Elvis, the kitten found a foster home. Just see the looks the Man and Woman are exchanging. They gave you a good furever home didn’t they? I think they can handle fostering this little one until she is healthy and finds her place in life. No spoilers here.
Tomorrow, February 14, is the one I was warning everyone about! Have tissues ready. Or, if you don’t cry, warn your housemates to expect an “AWWWW!!!!!” that may show up on the Richter Scale!
Please send out purrs and hugs for my pet sitters cat, Fidgett. He has gone from 16 pounds to 11. All his blood work came back normal and he will be scheduled for an ultrasound next. He is not eating or playing. We are worried and he is only 10.
Purrs and prayers for all, hoping for a good outcome for Fidget, but have the sitter ask about lymphoma if she hasn’t already or if the vet hasn’t brought it up. The symptoms fit. Information is the best defense.
I went to the store this afternoon, and when I opened my front door, I disturbed a couple kitties who had apparently been sleeping in front of it on my door mat.
One of them was Sooti’s almost twin (the kitty looks exactly like Sooti except for having a short tail), and the other one was a gray and white tabby. The two kitties immediately ran across my yard and under my neighbor’s home. I hate to say it, but it looks like my porch must be warmer and drier than under my neighbor’s home.
I put some food out for them, but I can’t afford to do that often. I’m thinking I should find some way of at least putting some kind of shelter for them on my porch.
I found my tuxedo boy, Lucky, almost the same way in opposite circumstances. It was in July, on the hottest day of the year, when I saw a scrawny black-and-white mite on the freeway shoulder. I scooped him up and took him to a vet. He was flea-invested, half-starved, and had a broken nose, chest and eye infections, and burned paw pads from the hot asphalt. The vet cleaned him up, and I took him home. Thing is, he never stopped purring from the moment I pulled over on the shoulder and put him in my car. He was an absolute love, a sweet and happy cat all his life.
This little girl may have had a rough start, but her life will only get better from here. Welcome to the world, baby girl. <3

Foster her for a few weeks? Is that possible? I’m pretty sure that once I take in a kitten, I can’t let her go to another home. I’m doomed.

“You’ve got to ask yourselves one question: ‘Do you feel like fostering a kitten?’ Well, do ya People?”
psssst the answer is yes.
cat19632001 almost 6 years ago
To foster, or not to foster—that is the question:
Whether ’tis nobler to leave this kitten to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or to take her in arms, wrapped in a warm towel, against a sea of troubles
And by opposing end them. To eat, to sleep—
No more—and by a sleep to say we end
The heartache, and the thousand natural shocks
That stray kittens are heir to. ’Tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wished.

” If we kittens have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended,
That you have but slumber’d here
While these cats did appear.
And this weak and idle theme,
No more yielding but a dream,
Gentles, do not reprehend:
if you pardon, we will purr and mend:
And, as I am an honest Puck,
If we have unearned luck
Now to ‘scape the serpent’s tongue,
We will make amends ere long;
Else the Puck a liar call;
So, good night unto you all.
Give me your paws, if we be friends,
And all cats shall restore amends.”

You asked for it, so here it is. Styx: Come Sail Away
We’re all looking outside into the endless void, nothing left to see
Just a canvas of white, that is all that’s there, and then suddenly
Out on the window sill, climbing aboard,
There is a kitten who needs our help
So we’ll help her try, oh yes to carry on!
…….
The Man brought her in, from the world so vast
Such a tiny thing, but she’s not alone
Tommy and his Woman have come
Helping her to get all toasty and warm
Someone needs to stay with her, for a week or two,
And we’ll help her, oh yes,
To carry on!
…….
A gathering of Humans, and Puck, Lupin, and me
All do our best to help our friend, and this is what we said:
Let’s save a cat,
Let’s save a cat,
Let’s all save a cat, we will
Let’s save a cat,
Let’s save a cat,
Let’s all save a cat, right now!
