Well, at least the Woman doesn’t have kittens climbing up her legs. Though I wouldn’t put it past Beatrix to do just that!

A traffic report! We’ve never had a traffic report before! Next thing you know the weather will be a song. O_o

But oh, yes, this is local dinner time, no question. “Get your head out of the bowl so I can put food in it! …now there’s gravy on your head, that’s your fault.” I love that Lupin’s last in line because he had to be at the anchor desk. It’s the little bits of internal continuity that make a great strip perfect. And look how tiny Beatrix is!

If the boys don’t mind me adding a Pixel Update bulletin to their traffic report…you know, while we wait…

Fantastic news on all fronts. Pixel was transferred to the local Humane Society for care, and they immediately identified him as a candidate for adoption rather than Trap-Neuter-Return. I got a nice voicemail that went “Are you sure you want to TNR this cat? He’s very friendly, and we have space for him…” I left a return message that went, “If you can adopt him out, do it!” and went by the Humane Society to confirm in person. Pixel is safe, eating, being cared for, and making friends, and he has a note on his kennel that says “Keeping”! He will be put up for adoption rather than released, and I am very happy for him and his future forever family. Bast or St. Gertrude or both have been looking out for this sweet kitty boy.

In my house I have the dishes on the counter while I’m filling their dishes. The cats are on the floor. My inside five are being very vocal the entire time. I also need to fill two dishes for two outside cats. So I have my hands full.

The difference between these guys and my cats is when my cats finally get through the peak traffic snarls they all turn up their noses at the feast and go back to what ever it was they were doing. For a while.

I imagine this must be like how it really is in Georgia’s house! The Boys and Goldie probably create a major traffic pileup every mealtime!

One bowl for four of them? Is the woman mad? Is there a bowl shortage? Is Puck about to fall over? Be back after the break for the answer to some of these questions…

This this morning when I got up. There were several near collisions on the way to the kitchen due to a certain cat dangerously weaving in and out around my legs. One of these days I’m going to have to give him a ticket.

Yum Yum is spurning her dry food lately so she is getting gushy food every day. I’ll try a different brand of kibble next week when our pensions come in and we have money. She’s not really a big eater, so a bag lasts her a long time.

Off topic, but I have a question for the Orb. A friend got a rescue cat from a shelter two weeks ago. She’s in good health and is eating and drinking normally but after a couple of days she stopped being friendly to him and became stand-offish. Not hostile, just indifferent. I advised him to give her some time and be available but let her lead for a bit until she gets past all the overload of the recent changes. Any suggestions? He’s going nuts buying toys and trying to get her to warm up and I feel sorry for them both.

His Majesty likes for me to feed him his wet food from a spoon. But when I share a little “people” tuna from my lunch, he slurps it up right from the dish. I think he has me trained.

don’t we usually get morning traffic reports from someone in a helicopter? I can just see Lupin leaning out as far as he can to get a better look! Puck would be “nope, nope, nope, nope” & Elvis would just be shaking his head at Lupin’s silliness while getting a net for him to fall in.

Lupin with his watch reminds me of another white critter looking at his watch, hurrying along so as not to be late…

Loving the ‘traffic report’ here. I wondered if maybe a flying critter – butterfly, or house fly, maybe?? – could provide ‘helicopter coverage’ of the traffic mess!! :)

Asking for prayers from the Orb. I’ve just taken our little black menace, Akiro, to the vet. I came home early with a headache; as soon as I was properly in the house he squatted and strained to pee (not at all his usual behavior), but all he passed was a tiny bit of blood. After BlueIris’ horrible experience with her dear P.J. yesterday, I panicked, packed him into his carrier, and took him straight to the vet’s office for the first available appointment. Fingers crossed and prayers going up that it’s something that can be set right quickly, but I’m worried about the little monster. (Also hoping that he doesn’t maul any of the staff.)

Beatrix is being surprisingly patient. Unusual impulse control for a kitten. Not that she doesn’t look eager. :-)

    Do, do, do, do,

Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do

    Do, do, do, do,

Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do

There is a chance of rain,

And wind, oh what a pain,

    Don’t know when we’re gonna

    See the sun again!

    But spring is coming soon,

And we’ll know what to do,

There are sunbeams for a nap,

    And flying flowers, too!

    Let the gentle rain replace,

All the snow around the place,

Come on with the spring, there’s a smile on my face!

    We’ll nap all the same,

    With a happy refrain,

Just purring, and napping in the rain.

A weather song: Singing In the Rain
