Because it would be really painful when The Woman’s claw pulled completely off like the cats’ old ones do!

Hunting skills? Humans haven’t got any. Cats bring prey home for humans to practice on, but the humans just don’t learn. It’s a good thing they have the big food cupboards. If they depended on hunting, with their feeble claws, slow, clumsy movements, and neon pink shirts, they’d be doomed.

The Woman will be defenseless without her mighty claws!

My sister recently broke her nails and we have two cats so I find it funny to imagine that they’re thinking the same thing.

I had to give Twig her own emery board. When I was filing my nails she would come up and chew on it. I don’t know if it’s the sound they like, the smell, the texture or what.

Puck appears to be thinking about painting his claws. Maybe a nice neon green to match his tie.

You don’t need claws to open a can of cat food, fellas.

Boys …Boys … the important question here is will her shortened claws interfere with her ability to provide you with ham and bacon.

The Woman has somebody to bring her prey.

The woman really does not need claws. Women in general, and Moms in particular, can drop prey with their steely, pitiless glare and raised voice. At least that is what I and my brother remember growing up.

My Mom didn’t need claws. She hated raised voices, so if she did raise her voice, we knew there was deeep trrrouble afoot and we RAN for the high hills.

Hunting skills? Look who’s talking. Get the robber mice and the July bug to talk about “the boys’” hunting skills. Although admittedly no kibble can escape them.

Anyway, what humans lack in claws, teeth, and catlike reflexes they make up for with technology and treachery.

When Yum Yum is intrigued by something I am doing, she gets behind me on the loveseat and puts her paws on my right shoulder and proceeds to beat me about the head with her tailbone. I guess she thinks the thwacks will help my concentration.

Off topic, we are off to the cabin for the weekend; leaving tomorrow and coming back sometime Monday. I can access the strip while I am away, but I will not be commenting.

But the Lacquer will make them harder.

My dog gets upset when my husband files his nails. He will pace next to hubby and whine. He couldn’t care less when I do it. (I know it is a dog story, but he is so cute!!!).

Wait until the boys find out that The Woman could put on artificial claws!

Don’t worry boys, she can still hunt down and “kill” a can of wet kibble.

Off-topic: an update! I have completed 3 cycles of chemo. My cycles consists of 2 weeks on & 1 week off. I am part of a clinical study at Johns Hopkins Hospital so it is a little different that what they call standard of care [SOC]. I get a lesser dose but more of it, then with SOC. I take an oral drug and then 4 IVs during the fusion. The premise behind this is they believe when you beat the body down with the SOC the body can’t help heal itself. The lesser doses lessens the side effects and is a bit better quality of life. But then there is me. I have earned the title “complicated” with my treatment. I have tolerated the actual chemo very well, no nausea & very little diarrhea. BUT. I have sensitivity to the main steroid they use to manage the nausea- dexamethasone, but we worked that one out. I was diabetic before starting this journey controlled with diet and oral drugs. One of the chemo drugs and the dex sent my sugar numbers through the roof. So I now have 4 shots of insulin a day & working with an Endocrinologist to tweak the doses. Added to the sugar problem is they put me on a high calorie diet because my weight keeps fluctuating. My brain is really struggling with that. Milkshake with dinner sure but the brain is saying no you can’t, oh wait yes you can, encouraged even. (That has been a little perk.). After 3 cycles it is time for the CT Scan, both anticipated & dreaded. The first thing they tell me is I have developed blood clots in my lungs, which they say is not uncommon with pancreatic cancer. So add 2 more injections of blood thinners to my daily regime. BUT. They saved the best for last . . . My tumor markers are way, way down and the tumors are shrinking. THE TREATMENT IS WORKING!!! Big smiles all around – me, Roy, the doctor & my research nurse partner. Me dancing in the hallway. The doctor was especially happy because not only does it bode well for me, but also the study & will help people that come after me . . .

But maybe the prey won’t believe the neon pink claws could catch them? I’ll bet tickles and scritches are just as effective in neon pink.

Clearly, the boys are going to have to work double-time to hunt for their Woman, leaving her all sorts of surprise treats and gifts around the place!

We had a litter of 5 white males once, all identical. My business partner painted their front nails with 5 colors to tell them apart.

Once the filing board and clippers come out the cats run. You see I use the same clippers on kitty talons too. They are no dummies.

My cat got hold of an emery board but couldn’t make it work. I sent a photo to my friend who replied, “At least she seems to be able to use the eyeliner.”

I like the Woman’s mouth in the last panel as she carefully applies the neon pink.

We tried the glue on claw covers for one of our cats. We decided she preferred pink. Trimming works better. :-)
