Technical difficulties have never been so CUTE…! I love it!
Poor Elvis, though! And even though my heart broke for Goldie yesterday, and is still breaking today, I’m also breathing a sigh of relief that she got inside before the word “intensifying” was used! Good timing, golden girl!
Nooooooooooo! I don’t know how much longer i can wait for Goldie to be found! (I know, as long as Georgia makes me!) this is almost as bad as the Mon & Thurs cliffhangers when BCN was only twice a week. I don’t know how we survived that phase without falling into the void and going insane.
OT but still on topic: Late yesterday ShanonTyson gave an update on Stormy, the kitten who came in out of the storm IRL. Still need to amass more help for needed surgery. So I am reposting the address early today. Orb to the rescue ! https://www.gofundme.com/3f6ud5-stormy039s-vet-bills
And more boops, purrs, barks and hugs for Stormy and her support team Shanon and family.
Lady Bri suggested this earlier and let me add my vote to the suggestion…The last panel of today’s strip would be a PERFECT T-Shirt. If you make it…we will buy it!
I like the last panel as a picture on a bag, be a fabulous tote for knitting or crocheting! A “yarn barf” with my favorite kitty all tangled up!!! And every time I picked up my bag to get to crochetin’, I’d see his lil face. [sigh]
Just strolled (ok, clicked) over to Georgia’s Facebook page and she has posted some still photos from the library talk, including great ones of Burt and Trevor…such handsome boys, and more comments on the day. Must have been so much fun to be there.
Royallymessed up my right leg at work the other day. The doctor says I either pulled (hopefully) several muscles or several large muscle groups from my knee to me lower back. I’m not allowed to go back to work or do much of anything until Monday at the earliest – if they can find something “light duty” for me. The cats are enjoying me being home, except for the fact that I can’t stay in one position long & I can only let them get on one leg or sit beside me. Hoping the medicine will be available for pickup soon.
From Georgia’s Facebook: "If you looked out into the crowd, you could possibly have spotted:
Trevor (And his Woman)Burt (And his Woman and Kids)Tabitha and Figaro’s WomanTommy’s WomanThe ManThe Toddler and the Baby (now the Boy and the Girl)
On the way into the talk, some readers spotted the real Big Pink House about a block away.
After the talk we had a signing, and the Man sat beside me and handled the cash box for book sales, while our kiddos played with other kiddos in attendance or were watched by the Aunt and the Nana.
I have loved each talk I’ve given, but this was the talk I dreamed about before the comic was even in newspapers. I’d walk from our apartment to the Ashaway Free Library and hope, “…Maybe someday I could give a talk about the comic here.” This was an awesome dream to come true, and I can’t believe how many of the People from the comic were also able to attend! Only the Intruder and the Mailman (who yes, is based on a real—and truly magical—person too) were unable to be at this one.
ALSO HOW GOOD ARE BURT AND TREVOR?? Holy Cat! That was such a cool surprise, I’m so grateful each of their women were kind enough to bring them along. In real life, Burt’s Woman is a biology teacher and Burt occasionally comes to school for lessons, so he is surprisingly comfortable in a crowd!
We live streamed this talk, and I will share the video again after this post if you’d like to watch it on this Friday morning!
I feel beyond lucky that I get to do anything like this, thank you! I’m always a bit anxious before a talk, and then it starts and it feels like hanging out with old friends. Thank you for always being so kind and warm and welcoming to me when we meet!"
OT: For those who like jigsaw puzzles, or just a spot of humor (Did I leave anyone out?) This is how Goldie sees herself: https://www.amazon.com/Buffalo-Games-Norman-Catwell-Jigsaw/dp/B07N4KQV4X/ref=pd_rhf_ee_s_bmx_0_2/145-1545715-4740600?encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07N4KQV4X&pd_rd_r=fd963090-876a-4fe2-8b74-adddcfcb48f9&pd_rd_w=BMMYU&pd_rd_wg=iPDDC&pf_rd_p=d9026020-7798-484c-a8e6-637e0efbd673&pf_rdr=6B4NP449S5Z80BA5A212&psc=1&refRID=6B4NP449S5Z80BA5A212&pldnSite=1 Well, at least the url’s a little smaller than the first time. I hope GoComics leaves this up. I have no association with the seller, though I might buy this. Almost as funny as Georgia’s best.

Oh dear, that last lightning strike was a bit close! (Maybe it’s just that the battery backup on Camera One just gave out).
