Hello all!! A couple days ago, I posted some background and questions regarding my eldest fur baby, Bartok. Thank you everyone who responded! I haven’t responded personally to everyone, and I’m late enough now that I’m posting this as a kinda “shortcut”. I’m sorry! I have difficulty keeping up with things as I should. :’(

Bartok is 14. Currently there’s a complicating issue that I might need to bring him in for. I do dental in Feb, as there’s a substantial discount and it’s tax return usually, but this may not be able to wait.

My vet is really rather limited. He also sneaks me discounts and meds as frequently as he can, has allowed me to “run a tab”, is very good within his comfort zone, and genuinely cares. I’d really like to find a specialist, but really feel I can’t.

B-12 is something I MIGHT be able to talk him into.

Bartok has been on pred for at least a year, I think. I’ve tried to wean him, post raw diet, but it might have been too soon after the diet switch? I’ve tried 1 month on and 1 month off. He did that ok for a bit, but most recently he made it 2 weeks before near constantly vomiting, and the vet said 2 weeks wasn’t worth it. I am having difficulty finding good info independently, about how long a cat’s system needs for some recovery, other than “as little as possible”.

I had him on tiny dose daily, went slightly higher dose but every other day and I’ve just decided and begun switching to every 3rd day, same dose. Vet knows, but it’s all my judgement. I don’t know which is more crucial, time off or dose given. Going for “time” right now.

I’ve communicated many times that I don’t feel like the balance is best for him. The vet kinda vaguely references other treatments, that he says have drawbacks that would be worse for Bartok.

We’re really NOT on the same page, but I’m speaking with him again tomorrow. I called and he’s off today.

What about Camera One, that follows the boys around? Is that tracking them? The horrors!

Hi all,

My hip has now gotten so that itdoesn’t hurt (much) if I’m lying down. I spent most of yesterday, laying on my bed and listening to MrCreepyPasta voice act/read the Neverglades Mysteries on YouTube (7 hours worth of stories). I’m hoping it won’t be too much longer before I can handle sitting on the chair long enough to do more than just read my comics and respond to a few comments.

You know what that equipment does Elvis? It follows your movements 24/7 and reports back to viewers like us for our amusement.

Brief Progress Report:

I walked into the kitchen. Trixie was asleep on her favorite bar stool, 5 feet from the sink.

I washed my hands, dried off, etc. She never even twitched, much less woke up. Until I went to the other side of the kitchen and opened a plastic bag of cashews. BOINK! Hey, what’s in the bag? Oh, never mind. Zzzzzzzzz.
