A very happy outcome for Lupin and Short’Stout! Goldie, take a bow, you cleared Lupin, had the boy come clean and be forgiven. Short’Stout, rejoice for you are a thing of beauty and a joy forever.
When is a vase not a vase? After local Cats (and boys) have visited…
Speaking of glassware and Cats my mother picked up some new wine glasses at her local Charity shop this last weekend. She’d been looking for a little while. But we only went in because that’s the haunt of Doris, the Caldicot town centre Cat. She’s the best salescat the shop has as so many go in to see her. (She also wanders the town centre most hours of the day and evening.)
So the little ♥ above Short N Stout, is it because he’s reunited with his owl vase family or is he possibly in love with the cute little vase beside him?
“Blue stick” putty or equivalent is a great thing to stabilize the bases of items that cats might brush against. It won’t stand up to a deliberate shove but reduces accidents.
National Park Service Founders Day —There’s a question here as to whether we should honor President Woodrow Wilson or President Theodore Roosevelt for this. Frankly, why not both? See below.
National Whiskey Sour Day —Here’s a toast to the above named Presidents, and the National Parks! Those of you who do not drink alcohol, see below.
National Banana Split Day —Celebrate all three days with a banana split! Matter of fact, a banana split (chocolate of course) with a whiskey sour on the side sounds like a good combination.
(I’ve always felt a little sorry for the banana …)
I wonder if ShortN’Stout is a member of the Bohemian Club here in San Francisco? I sort of knew a member, a rather interesting fellow, who attended Mass at my Church (High Church, AngloCatholic Episcopalian). The first time I met him, I recognized his lapel pin. He was a friend of the priest, and close friend, I serve with on Thursday (when we are not in the middle of a pandemic). He gave him several rather interesting pieces, including some beautiful illuminated manuscripts, and a cope that belonged to the infamous Bishop Pike. I have interesting friends. The priest, who is from England, introduced me to Doctor Who. His father was an actor with the BBC and took him to see the original TARDIS in 1963. My friend went on to study at Oxford, with Roger Penrose (who worked with Stephen Hawking). Through him, I have some incredible close degrees of separation from some fascinating people.
OT The Egg and I—some of us were talking about this the other day, just wanted to note that the movie will be on Turner Classics Thursday night at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time if anyone is interested in watching.
Well, depends on the function intended to be caried out. If the function is to either hold a smaller bud vase or artifical flowers, Short and Stout is still functional. If the function is to hold water…. Well from what Puck’s saying, the Woman’s repair job probably won’t let Short and Stout hold water.

The Peanut Butter Phantom
Elvis: What has happened?
The chandelier has crashed to the floor!
Did anyone see how it happened, oh no!
What do we do now?
Do now?
Glass is scattered everywhere!
We have to clean up!
Could this be a portent of our doom?
Glass we have to clean up now!
We need a vacuum!
At least will someone fetch a broom?
And now we must decide what we must do
A disaster all too true!
And still the show must go on tonight!
Puck: Glass we need to clean up now!
And fix the problem!
We cannot panic, we need to keep our cool!
And clean up the glass that’s scattered everywhere!
Tommy: Could this really be the work of The Peanut Butter Phantom?
Unseen Voice: Don’t blame us!
Enter Beatrix
Elvis: Bea, what happened?
Bea: Well, I was seeing if I could climb up to the chandelier, and I kinda was swinging on it.
Puck: You could have been seriously hurt! But at least you’re alright.
Enter Burt and Trevor
Burt: Don’t worry. We’ll have this thing fixed in time!cat19632001 about 4 years ago

Yes, Short’n’Stout and the little owl vessel have a “thing” (breakable objects hate the word “fling”). But let’s vase it, they are a cute couple.
And she sings:
Watching every motion
In Boy’s foolish “hold me” game
On this scary ordeal
Finally Boy took the blame
Healing and returning
To your shelf’s place beside me
Watching in slow motion
As you turn around and say
Take my breath away
Take my breath away
Watching I keep waiting
Still anticipating love
Never hesitating to become the fated ones
Turning and returning
To your shelf’s place on high
Watching in slow motion
As you turn to me and say
Take my breath away
From my high perch I saw you
I watched you slip away
When you fell & crashed I called you
And turned to hear you say
If only for today
I am unafraid
Take my breath away
Take my breath away

I use a putty called Sugru for things like broken owls, you can make any colour and it’s waterproof. It’s pretty good.
