Next on the Cat Network. Professor Lupin’s lecture on the microeconomics of people. Brought to you by Big Bag Ó Dirt. It’s Big, it’s a Bag, and, you guessed it, it’s Dirt!
I refuse to admit how many bags of dirt (in various configurations of topsoil, compost, and mulch) I haul into the backyard on a regular basis. You can’t prove anything.
Well my silly cat, Cassidy once chewed through a bag of cough drops, thinking they were his cat treats!(Bag was the same size and color of his treats!)
To be fair, humans are very good at making in-edibles look edible. Non-fat pastries come to mind — hyurrghh! And the recent development of plant based impossible meats are the absolute worst. I’m not a devoted carnivore, I’m more (for accuracy’s sake) a part-time vegetarian. But no matter how I’ve cooked synthetic meat products, they always leave an unpleasant aftertaste. I will gladly eat my weight in tofu every month, because I can make that tasty.
It is going to be really hot in much of the US this week. Drink plenty of water from the tap, and if you can, stay inside between 11:00 a.m. and November 1st.
Look on the bright side. That dirt is easily swept up and transferred into plant pots. OTOH, if that had been a jumbo pak of Mega TP rolls, the whole kitchen would have been ankle deep in fluffy white paper shreds. Harrumph.
Has anyone here had dirt cupcakes? They’re chocolate cupcakes with frosting that’s been coated with crushed Oreo cookies. The gummy worm garnish is a MUST.
I’m not sure which cat did this in real life (it was an overnight event a few months back… Elvis is most likely, due to his love for plastic), but this is an event ripped from actual household headlines, lol!! I see the comments asking why smell didn’t stop them—WHY INDEED?? Lol!! You’d think, right?! Truth really is stranger than fiction!
All this talk of dirt, mud, mud pies etc reminds me of Drop Dead Fred. A true classic. Such a shame Rik Mayall left us way too soon. He was never anything but drop dead funny.
But serious, Woman, why on earth would you have a bag of potting soil on the kitchen counter? You have to know that the cats would need to investigate! They are, after all, investigative reporters!!!

The Big Bag Ó Dirt must be from Paddy’s Potting Soil and Shenanigans Emporium. It explains so much about what goes on in the Big Pink House.

Only bad kitties destroy kibble bags. Elvis should be ashamed of himself.

Next comes “Bath Time for Mommy’s Pirate Ballerina.” At least this time, maybe it won’t require tomato juice.

As I recall, this really happened. In our home, Trouble has totally eaten through litter bags. Yuck!

That is quite a dirty trick. Elvis and the kitchen both need a good scrub.

Well potting soil’s groovy
I love how it feeds the plants we eat
And we need bags of rice and spuds
The Humans deserve a treat
There are bags full of groceries, and we’re glad they bring them home
Some bags contain items of things that are still unknown
…….
I wish they all could be bags with kibble filled!
I wish they all could be bags with kibble filled!
…….
We don’t want bags of kebble, or gourmet cat food, no!
It comes in flavors of chicken, tuna, all goes to show!
Sometimes the People spend their money on new foods we have to try
But we’ll always go back to the food that we love, that is the best to buy!
…….
I wish they all could be bags with kibble filled!

Tell me, little kittens,
Playing in the kitchen,
How many minutes
Til our cooking will be done?
Puck brings the flour,
Made from corner dust,
Elvis does the mixing,
Lupin rolls the crust.
Pat ’em here,
Pat ’em there,
Make ’em every size,
Pop ’em in the oven,
Nice mud pies!
Pat ’em here,
Pat ’em there,
What a big surprise,
We will have for the woman
Nice mud pies!

This year for father’s day I gave my son-in-law a bag of rocks. According to my daughter, that’s what he wanted.

But in the comic’s world Elvis is a great reader of books so surely he would have been able to read what it says on the bag?
