Does he mean “Settlers of Catan”? It’s not that kind of game.

Someone explain this to me.

Is a tanning saloon a place where people lay in “toasters” to get tanned skin?

The problem with using contemporary references in comics is that your audience, judging by most comments I see, are boomers. Like me.

Don’t get it either.

Yes, this is a bit confusing. The background sun and cloud and mountains and red sky is directly lifted from the cover of the game “Settlers of Catan” – also known as “Catan” now, making the pun clear, but the characters aren’t typical of the game. There are different versions of the game but as the full name implies, it’s a game of building and trading. So is the second part of the joke that these characters are more like D&D style adventurers and they are going to become Catan style settlers thanks to this Catanning salon?

“Well, all the jokes can’t be good. You’ve got to expect that once in a while.”

He shoots and misses once again, but at least the art work is good HA HA HA
