Are you aware that the vast windmill farms in CA. are there to stabilize a large segment of the state that fractured in ‘89? They provide a counter force to keep the segment from detaching from the state.
Then why are the vast windmill farms here in TX, wnderwrthg? (Likely they all belong to the same company, Green Mountain Energy, to which I subscribe…if that’s the right word.)
Have windmill, will travel. At least they didn’t just replace him with a newer, energy-efficient model. The R.U. Sirius is trying its hardest to not fire anybody, isn’t it?
The wind machines on the Altamont Pass were there before the Loma Prieta quake in 1989. I contend that several became out of balance. That is what caused the quake. At the time I lived about three miles from the epicenter. Exciting days, those were.
As a former longtime Californian I can assure you those wind farms in California are not meant to stabilize the state’s fracture zones, but rather to apply a gradual stretching force against the ones in Texas, so as to increase the size of the Sun Belt for the day when all the Baby Boomers retire to Arizona.
I dunno about stretching the sun belt McGehee, but I recently read that overall wind speed has decreased over the last few years. Do you think all those windmill farms are using up all the good wind?
Sherlock Watson: I clicked on B.R. for 6-12-09 and the “GROUCHO GLASSES” popped up and denied me access to the strip. I’ll tell you, this is B._S. You use to be able to read strips from the start now you can’t get 7 bloody days,,,,,,,It’s B.S.

And of course Brewster hasn’t figured out that there is no wind in space.

He looks so ‘California’ now.

He’d have to run up and down a lot to get that thing to work.

It must be a solar wind generator, so Oldbot must have to hang around outside the station alot.

That thing is going to make talking to OldBot very annoying.

There are windmill farms in KS, too. I think Westar Energy owns them.

The missing June 12th strip is up now, and it involves Winky losing his spleen again. 8)

Thanks SherlockWatson. I’m surprised I got there first (a dubious honor, since I’m probably on the low end of the comedic totem pole around here).

I can’t believe you have to pay to see the archived webcomics… It’s pathetic.
