Margueritem, That is very profound - exactly what I was thinking as I read it. I think Brewster is thinking, “I’m hungry” in that last panel.

I actually know people who are this pathetic. Just yesterday I talked to someone who would have made Melvin commit suicide somewhere around noon.

margueritum and steverinohanseon, what makes it worse is that time seems to speed up the older you get. That just doesn’t seem fair….But, the alternative to getting older sucks worse…

So sad and yet banal, to live one’s entire life in a single day!

Jeffpaul, how do you know we DON’T live our lives in a single day?

And Brewster, who was feeling the crushing weight of boredom, was trying desperately not to start singing, “Mayfly, don’t bother me.”

Uh, Trebor39…because we measure our days according to physical laws acting on the “consensus level”?

    Funny but meaningless question.

That was the day, my friend

    I thought it’d never end

    I’d sing and dance forever…well a day…

By the way, creating a living thinking thing fully intending it to have such an abbreviated lifespan is evil.

(At least give it a Mayfly Heaven for eternity.)

In like manner, not greatly extending all human lifespan is just wrong.
