This ‘toon is beginning to sound like all the talking heads who argue that people of my age should be put down to save the country money, or, at the very least, shouldn’t be allowed to run for office because we have nothing of value to offer. Guess I’ll be movin’ on from this site…

Just wait until all their “smart” devices won’t work (we had that a few years ago – no cell phone service in Germany for a few hours at least), and he’s the only one who knows how to operate an old-fashioned telephone with wire and all – maybe a _dial_even!

OK, not much use on a space station for that, but back on earth,…

But I bet he knows how to operate an actual book made of paper and stuff! Toddlers nowadays sometimes don’t and try to use it like a tablet.

Sounds like the way most IT people felt about the old farts who where the only ones who knew COBOL and FORTRAN several years back. Then the Y2K bug hit….

This is like me, trying to get a decent job that I like. Nobody has any use for my skills anymore.

Oldbot reminds me of those Frisbee-shaped robots on the old Buck Rogers show.

I was at a “media service provider” last week to have some old super-8 home movies digitized when a customer came in because the store was one of the few places in town to accept color film for processing. The clerk took her info and asked for the roll of film. The customer handed him a 35-mm SLR and said, “It’s in here.” The clerk called several other people over, and none knew how to remove the film! I intervened when they were discussing taking the camera into a bathroom, turning out the light, and prying open the back of the camera with a screwdriver. I rewound the film into the canister, opened the camera, and popped out the cartridge. Everyone was way over-impressed, and dispersed. Then the young lady asked me to reload another roll of film that probably expired 20 years ago.
