For the record, science technically recently did solve global warming, by inventing fuel cells that are powered by draining carbon dioxide from the air and converting it to oxygen, so if that is applied on a large world-spanning scale it could likely solve the problem. However, Bill Gates has heavily invested in the invention, so he is technically in a position to shut it down if he wants to, and I distrust the altruism of his intentions.
