Walmart had to remove the My Pillow guy products from the As Seen on TV section since he isn’t anymore.

Why is “as seen on TV” an endorsement?

And, of course, his target audience knows the news is all fake – so they’ll assume the app must be good because the news says it’s bad.

Hollywood approach? Even bad news is good news, because it gets you name recognition and bad news travels faster than good news. Product recognition and 100 thousand people (idiots) will buy it, use it, just to see if it’s as bad as they say it is. The media and advertisers knows what sells.

There’s an “As Seen On TV” store in a mall not far from me. They have hundreds of things you see on the late night commercials.

There was a time when that would have been a positive endorsement.

“60 Minutes” is usually not a good one for referrals. :)
