I’ve been converting all my books on tape to CD. Get the right hardware and you go from ‘relic’ to cool in no time!

So true! It’s hard to keep up with the pace of technology if one’s budget isn’t growing as fast! (P.S. I like books on paper!)

I’m still waiting for “books on telepathic beam.”

I like books on paper best!

I love audio books AND paper books. And books on CD are almost as antiquated as books on tape these days. Mostly they’re just downloaded now. Still, there is nothing so satisfying as a nice book in your hands.

BTW, my teenagers love their actual paper books too. Just yesterday my 14-year-old pulled out a book, gave it to my 13-year-old and said, “I think you’ll enjoy this.” And the 13-year-old thanked him!

Almost as old as holographic books.

I have no intention of replacing my paperbacks. Nor do I plan on stopping buying them.

why get books on tape or CD, real paper paged books are so great, I get some of mine from used book stores and when i finish them give them to my son when he is done i donate them to a local hospital or physical rehab center

I ruined all my books-on-tape by trying to underline my favorite passages….

I love being able to highlight passages in books made from real paper.

Sometimes I have to put tape on books.

Actual books have a huge advantage over audiobooks, and it’s spelled out in Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451.

I also like magazines on paper; listening to a centerfold just isn’t the same.

My dad loves these things! He listens to them in the car on the way to work!

Different books on paper require different levels of concentration, and I would imagine the same goes for audio books. If I had the luxury to sit back and do nothing else than listen to somebody read aloud a book I hadn’t read before, then I suppose I wouldn’t be afraid I was missing anything important. But if I was exercising, or driving, or folding laundry, or anything that required even that I divide my attention, I wouldn’t imagine that I was getting anything like the full value of the author’s words. Besides, I can read a book a lot faster than it can be read aloud…

Last time I went to the doctor’s for a “procedure” I took an e-book with me. The battery died long before I was allowed to go home. Next time I take paper!
