When I was in college I had an on-campus apartment that was about 4 blocks from the nearest grocery store. I didn’t have a car, and walking that far with a large load of groceries was out of the question. What I’d do was leave my drivers liscense with the clerk at the store, take the grocery cart home with my groceries, and then, after I got the groceries up to my apartnment I’d take the cart back and get my DL. Of course, that was back before my arthritus and other leg problems started bothering me and I was doing a lot more walking.
