When I was in the police academy, we had to do a 2-mile run. We did it in December, at a nature trail. They asked us "Do you want to run a mile out and turn around and come back, or two miles straight? We asked if there would be someone to pick us up at the end. They said “Nope!”
Two miles? Two miles? Not much of a walk for anyone in halfway decent shape, even people in their 70’s, and many people in their 80’s. Should be able to do it in 30 minutes or thereabouts. Of course, Broomie is 1500, so she gets a bye.

And start in front of a Dairy Queen.

Or Tim Horton’s for our Canadian readers.
Other suggestions more than welcome.

Guess which one we picked?

It was a win-win day: Broomie never had to execise again, and the Mirkwood spiders had extra supplies for the winter…

Meh. Bunch of softies. “Two miles” is like nothing! (And I am an Old Fart of the First Order….)
