BTW, don’t witches perform magic? Broomie could have just conjured up a swimming pool—and then ZAPPED the nosy, intrusive neighbors popping up from nowhere!! LOL
During a drought, many, many years ago, I decided to dig out a small basement under my house. It started out like chipping away at solid brick, 3’ thick. But, as luck would have it, it started to rain, and rain, and rain. My excavation filled up with water and the walls were now mud, not brick. Had I known that the rains were coming, I could’ve saved myself so much work by waiting on the dig.
I remember my brother was putting in his above ground pool and figured he would just level the ground himself. He soon realized it was more digging that he had thought and hired someone to do it.

We’ve had 16 inches of rain in the last few weeks, including 4 inches since Saturday. No need to dig for mud, we’ve plenty everywhere.

In high school, I managed a small local pool. It was such a pain in the neck to keep the water ph balanced and the chlorine adjusted.

“Mud! Mud! Glorious mud!
Nothing quite like it for cooling the blood!
So follow me, follow,
Down to the hollow,
And there let us wallow in glorious mud!"

In my childhood we didn’t use shovels. Just a hose and our feet.
