At a Thanksgiving gathering for extended family. I left Max (half black lab, half Bernese) in our bedroom with the TV on for company. Part-way through the meal, I checked on him. I forgot about the National Dog show telecast. Max was watching the dogs, ears up, very rapt.
Paul, I think you may need to rethink how you do things for Buckles while you and Jill are gone. All that tape is doing is just yelling at Buckles, so that’s not going to comfort him at all.

The fourth frame perfectly catches the anxiety dogs feel when we leave them

Paul: “In my absence, I’ve left instructions for everyone.”
Buckles:“Mine just says ‘Buckles, no.’”
Paul: “I want you to apply it to every situation possible.”

I’ve never owned a dog, but I like to think I wouldn’t make half as many mistakes as Paul.
