I remember an arc of “Mother Goose and Grimm” comics where Grimm got a new dog license, but this made him think that it made him capable of driving, with predictable results.
When I had My Boy (Avatar), I was at a local convenience store getting gas …… pretty soon someone came in and said to me ….. “See, you’ve got a driver” ….. I look out and there was Chinook sitting right up like he was ready to drive and Guss, the neighbor’s pit bull sitting in the passenger set both just like they were ready for a drive …… I got a picture (tried to post here but couldn’t) …….. great memories ……. :)
He reminds me of my eldest when I offered to buy her a floating balloon. She threw a royal tantrum thinking I was getting her a hot air balloon that she could fly in.
I once, and only once left beagle #1 and #2 alone in my car for about 3 minutes while I ran into a store for something. As soon as I started to walk away, #1 took my seat, stood up, and put her paws directly on both sides of the horn. I could hear the horn blasting my entire time in the store. I was sure the noise would scare her silly and she would drop down. Nope. As I was quickly returning to my car, a man and his son looked at me oddly, still hearing the horn solidly blaring, and I said, “If you think that is bad, you should see how she drives!”
I was in Mae Hong Son, Thailand years back and watched with some amusement a family of 4 on a small scooter, stacked on there like sardines tootling down the road. Dad, Mom and 2 kids. The dog had its rear legs on the man’s lap and its front legs on the handle bars. Fortunately I didn’t laugh out loud, but it was and still is to this day a favorite funny memory.
