I can tell when the squirrels get to the bird feed. The squirrels will eat the sunflower seeds and leave the millet and corn for the birds. The squirrels apparently don’t like millet and corn.
It’s always a cool experience to see comic strip characters you’ve come to know and love in comic strips in their first stages. Over time, they change slightly here and there, and they end up looking very much different by thr end of it all.
Squirrels bury acorns and stuff all the time, and when winter comes, they dig them up and eat them. I wondered how they know who buried what. We have a lot of squirrels here, and no, I don’t feed them. After some research, I found that squirrels just bury at random, and when winter comes, they just dig up the first food they find. Therefore, to a squirrel, if they find food, it’s theirs. They share with each other, although if two squirrels want the same nut, I don’t think they would be very polite about it. When they find food in a bird feeder, they probably think they have rights if they got there first.

I wonder if a bird or a flock has ever gone after a squirrel, getting them to leave the bird feeder?
