As some may recall, Christopher Robin and Pooh used CR’s umbrella (on Pooh’s suggestion) as a boat, which CR christened The Brain of Pooh - and went in it to rescue Piglet from the flood waters.

It’s a good thing it wasn’t still raining, or CR would have to rename the boat The Bathtub of Calvin! ;)

How to destroy a perfectly good umbrella. They’re not designed to withstand that kind of weight or abuse. I can’t even think that it would be comfortable at all with all those little supports.

Calvin’s parents can let him have a bath regularly in the upside-down umbrella. “Is everybody happy?” P.S. Of course, Calvin would tire of it quickly if his parents allowed or recommended it!

Now if Calvin’s parents had thought of this with the umbrella Calvin wouldn’t. I wonder though if Calvin would take a bath while playing in the water the sad part water would go over all the bathroom floor. Calvin you look like your having so much fun.

When I was living at home we had a breezeway you could sit on during a storm. I used to love it when we’d have a huge storm with thunder and lightening and the wind would blow really hard too. I used to stand in the back doorway and the wind and light rain would blow through that door to the front door. Your shirt would fill up with air and blow like a sail behind you and then blow the other way and stick to the door in front of you. You’d get a light mist of rain too which felt good on a hot summer day or night. My friends and cousins used to take turns being in the doorway and laugh over and over again! The simple pleasures of childhood!

Johnnie Ray recorded “Just Walking in the Rain” in 1956 and it was a big hit. I can recall the tune and a few words.

I got one more rain song, “Laughter in the Rain” by Neil Sedaka. That was my first serious boyfriend’s and my song. He used to walk 1 1/2 miles in the rain with an umbrella to my parent’s house to walk together.
