I sympathize with your concerns, but I don’t really have an “in” with GoComics for the type of questions you want to ask them. When I’ve gotten an answer from them in the past, it has usually been on a technical question. But your questions mostly involve policy, and my impression is that GoComics doesn’t want to argue with users back and forth regarding their policies. And they don’t have to, because they own the site and we agree to their policies when we sign up.I’m assuming that GoComics considers their judgment calls regarding censorship to be non-reviewable, sort of like judgment calls by the referees regarding player interference in American football. So GoComics doesn’t give us a means to throw the red flag and demand a review if we disagree with their call.

Maybe Calvin needs a paper route.
BanjinTsuki about 13 years ago
That’s ok Calvin – Dad’s don’t have homework.
alan.gurka about 13 years ago
So, it must be Friday in Calvinland, too. Poor Dad. This explains why Calvin’s an only child.

That kid’s going to get kicked in the teeth.

Bill Cosby has a better perspective than “Oog”. He says “I brought you into this world, I can take you out.” Harsh. No doubt effective.
Snoopy_Fan about 13 years ago
That part about “racking up expenses” may get him thinking about divorce! :-)
Puddleglum2 about 13 years ago
Dad has no clever rejoinder today. The best he can say is “oog”. That’s goo backwards, if that means anything.
Puddleglum2 about 13 years ago
@JohnnyDiego,Are you implying that Calvin might finish dead first?
Puddleglum2 about 13 years ago
Perhaps Calvin should not claim to be ‘racking up lots of expenses’. He might end up as the cue ball.
astar15 about 13 years ago
it’s like how we kids torment our parents when it’s summer or winter. :)

Dogsniff is responsible for Hobbes’ (the commentator) demise yesterday, although he might rise again the third day! :o) jk

Did dad have any kids that lived past the weekend?
gotocomic about 13 years ago
I read this strip to get a laugh at the beginning of the day, i don’t want to analyze this.

Give that kid a heap of chores! hehe
Stephen Gilberg about 13 years ago
I believe that’s “Oog,” an improvised expletive to express how much he is not looking forward to work. As a kid, I liked to think he burped.

One of the oh-so-many reasons why Calvin is — and always will be — an only child!

Calvin! You little tick, you!

Calvin Dad does not need a reminder of why he has to work.
jaimeaut about 13 years ago
Calvin does need a sister to give a better view of reality.
lkholt about 13 years ago
Calvin is funny. He means no real harm. He knows how to carry on.
stuart about 13 years ago
@Aaron Roman fathers had the right to kill their children if they became a problem – up to age 13. Calvin would not have survived to age 7.
khpage about 13 years ago
Hey Dad, make sure that Calvin doesn’t get ahold of Mom’s credit card and order stuff like weird videos and pizzas for himself and Hobbes.
bmonk about 13 years ago
And once more old Dad heads off to the Patent Office. . . .

Thanks for all the possible explanations of Dad’s “OOG”, everyone. I must say that I was wondering!
kab2rb about 13 years ago
Dad may dread going to work as much as being home with Calvin. Has to be done.
