Oh the memories…back when I was in university, they had sports camps in summer. All these little boys sitting in Commons saying, “You know what that looks like?” “You know what that smells like?” I was in charge of a group of Mexican summer-exchange students, who brought along their own chilis etc. to meals. One day when they were getting very tired of the little boys, one of them offered the brats some chili peppers. The jar went down the table, each kid took one…and no one said a word. They all turned bright red as sweat poured off their faces, but not a word of warning to their pals. There was a run on the soda fountain, though.
Ate a hot pepper by mistake once in a restaurant, the hostess was so impressed by the way I handled it and ate my entire meal that she gave me a tour of the restaurant and their storage building out back for frozen items(shrimp, lobster, fish, etc.. Never again reached blindly into a pickle crock.
Seriously? Calvin, I clean Habaneros with my bare hands! Love hot stuff, and radishes. Cutting back on my salt though, so radishes just don’t quite taste the same, you know?

If I had a stunt double, I’d send him to work for me, but then he’d probably want to be paid.

I’ve never seen a toad sitting on one of those “mushrooms”.
Puddleglum2 about 11 years ago
Perhaps a toadstool might be an antidote for one of those hot peppers. NOT!

@JP Steve (yesterday),At least “glom of nit” is more understandable than “gang aft agley”, although gang aft agley describes Calvin better.

People, don’t talk to it, just flag it. If enough people flag it often enough it will get itself banned.

Best cure for eating a hot pepper or anything w/ too much Tabasco sauce is a glass of milk!

Or yoghurt or sour cream — which may be why Indian cuisine features yoghurt and Mexican features sour cream.

I loved radishes. I can’t enjoy them nearly as much now with dentures.
