So true, Calvin. Personally, I love cats, and dogs, and horses and hamsters and…you name it. But I knew a “gentleman” who frequently declared to anyone around, “The only good cat is a dead one.” When asked why he disliked them so much, he would always say, “They’re independent and selfish.” He should have looked in the mirror—in reality I think he couldn’t stand the competition.
Ironic that when that man’s kids grew up and left home, the first thing each and every one of them did was acquire a cat! When he died, his widow adopted a cat a day or two after the funeral.
