I read somewhere that in colonial times prisoners along the New England coast were fed lobster. They were plentiful, cheap, and not considered a delicacy. ….and of course I’m sure they complained about it being cruel punishment.
Some of us are old enough to remember the Beverly Hillbillies. Granny used to smoke those crawdads. Made for a lot of subliminal drug jokes for it’s time.
