After a while, your opponent’s gonna have to wonder if beating you is really worth the fallout…

Calvin is bad at every school subject, sports, and now board games. I don’t blame him.

Somehow this reminds me of current events.

Look up some videos of sports fans rioting after both winning and losing to see some real life examples. Like Hobbes says, “It’s just a game.”, and those rioting have absolutely nothing at stake unless they’re gamblers. Pathetic!

Wait until some one loses an election

From yesterday’s comments…@NUMBER THREE “I know this is unrelated but when Calvin mentioned teeth in the 2nd panel, I remembered that I’ve had dreams of my teeth falling out which is apparently a fear of getting older.”

I’ve had that dream too. I HATE that dream! Sometimes I dream I’m eating something and then I have a mouth full of teeth that fell out. I’ve also dreamed that all of my teeth fall out in one piece – like removing dentures. And sometimes it gets even worse, because I dream that this time it isn’t a dream. but that my teeth really did all fall out. Other times I dream that I realize I’m dreaming and I didn’t really lose all my teeth. At least that isn’t as bad.

Then there are the times I dream that the brakes go out on my car and I can’t make the car stop. Those dreams also are all too real. Now that I’m thinking about those ba dreams, I hope they don’t come back an haunt me when I go to bed later.

My dreams are more mundane, like being chased by a carnivorous dinosaur. That last time it got me and I woke up! I was wearing a jet pack in a cave.

At this stage in my life of rapidly approaching geezerhood (I’m almost as old as Leading Edge), I very rarely have dreams, other than brief ones about my kids, that I remember. Not surprisingly to those who know me, from mid-1995 to about 2005, I had many vivid dreams of Grateful Dead shows in which I could hear long stretches of the music but never had one glimpse of the band.

Games do teach important life lessons — how to be a gracious loser (and winner!), how to follow the rules, how to work and play cooperatively, etc.

OTOH, they can also teach creativity, in designing new games (e.g., Calvin Ball).

The world is crazy enough without me adding to the craziness. I consider myself a good looser, but my family considers me a sore looser. Go figure!

There’s a reason I used Game Genie codes for infinite lives as a kid: I hated losing anything.

It’s even worse when he wins, apparently.
