One of the rare occasions when Calvin’s Dad actually answered honestly, instead of making stuff up, like how the suns sets in Arizona and is only the size of a quarter.
The funny thing is that looking things up doesn’t always enlighten us. Some things, like chemistry, we have very solid understanding of. Others, like biology, we still give “Calvin’s dad” explanations.
Any fool with a d!ck can make a baby, but only a real man can raise his children.
Unfortunately, our “modern” society has been doing its best to marginalize the importance of fathers. Just watch TV, or look at parent custody cases – the man is relegated to a source of money. And yes, there are many males out there that are not fathers, but many men out there are.
I have a great-nephew that was five when his mom was pregnant. This kid is extraordinarily intelligent. He taught himself to read by age four, not just Dick and Jane stuff, and could do addition in his head before he turned three. You can’t bs him, as he sees right through it. He asked his mom how the baby got in her belly. She told him that when a mommy and daddy love each other God puts the baby in mommy’s belly. He looked at her and said “I don’t think so, try again”.
Calvin…if your dad loves you, feeds you, clothes you, keeps a roof over your head, and sets a good overall example for you, then consider yourself very fortunate. A manual can’t teach love and responsibility. Your dad doesn’t need to have all the answers; he just needs to do his best. Now, let’s talk about how well you’re doing as a kid…

This is the point the world starts changing from the dad knowing everything to the son knowing everything.

Shucks, not his usual answer, he actually gave out real info instead of his usual hilarious take on things.

There’s a quote from ’90’s movie Boyz n da Hood:

No exam required. The dads are a club where the members don’t have a brain in their head.

My son is 40 now, with three children of his own. I recall when he was about 4 he asked me why water was wet. I believe I told him to go play!!

Someone about that age of six was told he was soon to have a baby sister. Later on, he sorrowfully confided to a friend, his mommy ate her.
