If Calvin ever gets married, his wife should handle the finances.
Three dimes? Oh, Calvin, you really shouldn’t be walking around without a helmet on.
Since Hobbes is a in Calvin’s imagination, Calvin is actually very smart and can think outside of the box. So, why…?
darn it Calvin! you should’ve gave her six nickles!
If ignorance is bliss the Calvin must be very blissful……
I don’t suppose a future as Math teacher or banker .
Hey Calvin, do you have two tens for a five?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7pMYHn-1yA
Three dimes wasted on a dizzy dame? Cal, you dog, you! :D
…And the rich get richer.
and somewhere, Susie is laughing her head off on how she cheated Calvin!

Calvin, You scoundrel!
two for a nickel, three for a dime, for for a quarter any old time. Old carnival call
Why did McDonald’s “third-pounder” fail? People actually thought it was smaller than a quarter-pounder, but it was more expensive!
Calvin has a bright future selling Amway products ahead of him…
But they’re little dimes. Each one is smaller than a quarter, actually.
Panel 3: Hobbes is looking directly at us. That always cracks me up. It’s like he’s personally sharing his astonishment with the reader.
Math can be a lot more useful than Calvin thinks.
I thought he doubled it to 35 cents
Most of the kids that I see, working as a cashier at places like fast food shops, have no idea how to make change because the machine does it all for them! :o[
Is he really that dumb?
So classic Calvin.
Calvin fulfilled opposite day by not paying Susie the amount he said he would (in a way).
It seems that occasionally Hobbes is a bit of a superego, storing knowledge for Calvin that Calvin simply refuses to process.
Oh, you blockhead! :P
Calvin you did math bad.
My 12 year old nephew doesn’t know his times tables up to 10. I learned them in 3rd grade. I wonder what education is coming to these days.
The little devil “long-changed” her.
This has been a good storyline starting with the parent-teacher conference and ending here. Hope you all learned something, unlike Calvin.
Yep, dimes are so much smaller………
Life is going to chew him up.
I’m LOLing!

Calvin should be an Illinois voter…
And Susie took them, thus proving that honesty is in short supply on both sides.
Add a nickel and Calvin would’ve paid the doubled wager of 35 cents!
“A Fool and his money are soon parted.”
I love how Calvin talks about philosophy so intricately and uses big words but can’t do simple math
I wish I knew what a dime was worth, I might get the joke.
5 cents here and there doesnt matter. You are way too smart, except your arithmetics.
I love that the figment of Calvin’s imagination is smarter than he lets himself be.
When I was in elementary school, one of my classmates had this strip taped to his math notebook.
She wanted 25 cents. And three dimes equals 30 cents. So this means that you gave her what she wanted, with a leftover of five cents or a nickel.
