Most important is, what is in your heart. And that is even in you, when you are born, you cannot learn this. Some people try their whole life to be good and mostly do good deeds. Others don’t care for that and often do bad things.That is in you, you have it in your innerst when you are born!!

A proper diet is important.

Watterson has the darndest gift for drawing emotion on faces. Hobbes matter-of-fact expression in panel two is really good.

I remember hearing that we tasted too salty, saves on the condiments I suppose…..

Tigers say that humans make for excellent snacking, but too much gives them indigestion so they can’t really eat humans for their main course.

And Hobbes would know how? And if he does know how, Calvin should stay quite aware of where Hobbes is at all times!

Which explains the number of stuffed real tigers in human adventure clubs and safari clubs. Tigers hunt for human “protien”, and humans hunt tigers who hunt for humans. Sort of a wonky circle of life.

Indian tigers didn’t particularly like human flesh and only became man eaters if injured. From two separate books by tiger hunters.

Cycle of life, baby. Cycle of life.

Nonsensical “difference” thought up by Calvin. Young tigers grow to be adult tigers. Young humans grow to be adult humans.

A man named Frank Buck (1884-1950) wrote several books about his adventures in trapping animal life in foreign lands in the early 20th Century and bringing them to the United States. One was entitled “Bring Them Back Alive”, which was always his goal (actually, both alive and healthy). In it was a chapter on man-eating Tigers, including the story about how he trapped one and brought it to the United States alive. His point about man-eating Tigers was that when they began eating humans they tended to be either old or injured and not up to the rigors of taking down healthy game animals, but once they began killing and eating people, they continued to do so until they were killed. The Frank Buck Zoo in Gainesville, Texas, is named for him.

To make proteins, humans need 20 amino acids. Our bodies make 12 and the other 8 we get through food. I assume its the same for tigers

Ortega y Gasset (The revolt of the masses) says something like this: Every tiger is always a “first tiger”, but man can store up a heritage of ideas, experience, and institutions out of the past. Think about it, Calvin!

Calvin, if you stay the way you are, it means staying with your parents. And frankly, you’ll be lucky if they don’t throw you out long before you turn 18.

And Dad’s scarf is “missing” again….
