This is another of my favourite Sunday strips. I have referred to it several times. It makes two big points which support Bill Watterson’s claim that he didn’t see Hobbes as part of Calvin’s imagination. One of them is that Hobbes is shown again as able to do something Calvin didn’t know about. Another is that the forest animals seem to be able to see Hobbes is alive just as Calvin does.
