I’m particularly grateful to friends who have been helping me; one friend texted me to say she is going to bring me Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving!

I line up for the stuffing, roasted in the bird, with a bit of gravy on it. Everyone has their own favorite part of dinner!

I had a great Thanksgiving at the Eastern Shore (Dewey Beach to be precise). We had friends and family and celebrated being together! The Parade on TV was awesome! Though I was sad to not see kids under 5 in attendance (since they’re not eligible for the vaccine yet). When I got home, I found out about the Omnicrom (formerly Mu) variant from South Africa. The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that they’ll probably know more about this variant in about two or three weeks. In the meantime, I have seen online that Doctors in South Africa are stating that most of the patients with this variant have mild symptoms and almost all of the patients are unvaccinated (Africa is currently the least vaccinated continent on the planet). Which, hopefully, means that the fears arising in some quarters that this variant’s resistance to the vaccines are unfounded. So, in addition to food and family this Thanksgiving, I am thankful for vaccines and boosters for making my holiday possible and to South Africa for taking action quickly. Here’s hoping further research of this variant will show it’s not as scary as it is now. Happy Thanksgiving.
