Charlene: Secretaries Day began in 1952 as a noble attempt to give some professional recognition to the pathetic status of secretarial workers. In many companies, it's deteriorated into an excuse to hand out tax-deductible bouquets in lieu of the financial perks that every employee in a "higher" positon can command. If you want to honor your secretary, give her a jumbo raise and stock options in the very company that would crumble without her brilliant performance!!! Mr. Pinkley: Go home before you start a riot, Charlene. Charlene: A day off with pay! Excellent beginning, Mr. Pinkley.
