Andrea: Let't not panic, Luke. We can live off our savings while you look for another job. Luke: We spent part of our savings doing the baby's room in knotty pine to reflect our "return to simpler times"...we spent part replacing our high-tech kitchen with distressed oak to symbolize our repulsion with conspicuous consumption...and we spent the rest on the natural fiber area rug...which is rolled up in the basement so no one gets it dirty...to voice our oneness with the earth. Andrea: We have nothing to fall back on? Luke: Just the $500 hand-loomed, third-world throw pillows on the Adirondack rocker.
