Cathy: I want to begin an exercise program, but I don't know how to start. Salesman: Simple! Start with stretches on an exercise mat! Stretch and then go for a walk. Walk with hand weights and elongated strides, checking your heart rate every five minutes until you're pumping at 75% capacity for 20 minutes! Follow with 30 minutes of weight resistance reps on the pecs, biceps, triceps and abs...30 minutes of step work for the glutes and quads..and then every two days rotate in rubber bands, free weights, punching bag and jump-rope for the full cross-training impact! So many beginners make the mistake of setting unrealistic goals!
Stop at “stretch and go for a walk.”
