Transcript:
Cathy: Call Danny? Oh, no! I'd have to ask him out! Mom: Just call to talk. Cathy: Single people can't call to talk. We can only call to invite. Mom: Single people call to talk all the time. Cathy: We call and talk, but the conversation has to end with an invitation or else, the other person will feel that he or she was being tested by the call and flunked. There are no miscellaneous talking calls allowed unless you're in a relationship so serious that the next date is presumed. Otherwise, the unmentioned next date is just hanging there, clouding up the atmosphere, choking all conversation. Oh, for heaven's sake, Cathy! Just call! Call and talk to him! Cathy: Hello? Why haven't you called to ask me out?? Viola. Mom: The "carefree" single life, indeed. Instant access to millions of loving, caring members of the human race. Use at your own risk.
Oy. Overthinking things just a bit, Cathy?
Pretty sure my [eye-roll] here registered on the Richter Scale, for my Random comic tonight.
