It didn't work! He was never our Alex. Cathy: But if he'd been totally different, and you'd been totally different, he could have been our Alex!! Cathy: Yes. If we were totally different people, he could have been our Alex. Dad: Dear? Mom: We were so close that time.
Actually, Cathy dumped Aaron because, as she just reminded her mother, he was too young for her and they had nothing in common. It was her mother who was pushing for the engagement the whole time, and Cathy was the sensible one for once.
