Mom: This costs as much as our first car! This costs as much as Grandman's house! This?? Aack! you can't buy this!! Cathy: I'll come back alone next week. The "shopping with Mom" factor.
Sadly, my experience is that Mom is right. Since the “Great Recession” the prices on everything are jacked up so much that it just screams “gouging.” So, I have stopped buying a lot of things I once did. In one of my favorite stores, this year the jeans went from $79.00 (last fall) to $109.00 (this fall) and if you want certain colors, the same pants cost $119.00. I haven’t been back to the store.
