Fantasy Reality Cathy: Look at this cute purse! It's perfect! Mom: It's a little small, isn't it? Cathy: No, because I'm not going to carry all this stuff around anymore! Mom: You've been carring all that stuff for 20 years! Cathy: But I'm going to get rid of it. Mom: Every year you plan to get rid of it...and every year it's back by January 15! Cathy: But I'm different this year! I really want to cut back! One pen...one credit card...one lip gloss... Mom:...And then a note pad will slip in...then a tissue pack...contact lens system...mint tin...brush...receipts...and suddenly... Cathy: I am not buying a giant purse to accommodate last year's lapses in willpower! I've changed!! Mom: Inside every "large-purse person" there's a "tiny-purse person" screaming to get out. Saleswoman: That will be $49.95. Cathy: Also, I need a much smaller wallet...
I’m with you, summerdog. Although it takes me a while to find a purse I like, when I do, I’m really happy with it but I don’t like moving everything to the new one. I guess it’s a good excuse to clean out though. I’m more of a medium purse girl though. I have too much stuff for a small purse, but I don’t like big purses either. Things get lost in them too easily.Hello Cathy clan, and Happy New Year!! (Sorry for the late greeting :-)) I had a good trip to see my mom, although I missed you all! We moved her into an assisted living facility, so we were very busy buying and moving things for that. I sort of felt like I had a college student buying lamps and organizers and dishes. I think she is happy though and she’ll be well taken care of there.Stay warm and dry, friends! (How much snow do you have, sis?) We got snow while we were in MD, which was exciting, and we’re due to get snow tonight in GA. The big difference is that MD is prepared to handle snow (plows and salt), while GA is crippled until it melts. I bet the kids’ first day back at school will be postponed… sad.
