Fantasy Reality Cathy: Look at this cute purse! It's perfect! Mom: It's a little small, isn't it? Cathy: No, because I'm not going to carry all this stuff around anymore! Mom: You've been carring all that stuff for 20 years! Cathy: But I'm going to get rid of it. Mom: Every year you plan to get rid of it...and every year it's back by January 15! Cathy: But I'm different this year! I really want to cut back! One pen...one credit card...one lip gloss... Mom:...And then a note pad will slip in...then a tissue pack...contact lens system...mint tin...brush...receipts...and suddenly... Cathy: I am not buying a giant purse to accommodate last year's lapses in willpower! I've changed!! Mom: Inside every "large-purse person" there's a "tiny-purse person" screaming to get out. Saleswoman: That will be $49.95. Cathy: Also, I need a much smaller wallet...

I started wearing fanny pack too when I had shoulder surgery. Still have it. I throw extra stuff in a bag if I need it. We will be warm here in Ca. 68 yesterday. Happy Sunday all.

Is it any wonder that Cathy became a total nut-job? Don’t listen to her, Cathy—just do what you want and buy the little purse!
HI, MOM. Good Sunday Morning, “Cathy” Clan.

I love purses as much as the next girl, but I really do hate switching all the necessary-for-life stuff inside them from one purse to the other.

I’m with you, summerdog. Although it takes me a while to find a purse I like, when I do, I’m really happy with it but I don’t like moving everything to the new one. I guess it’s a good excuse to clean out though. I’m more of a medium purse girl though. I have too much stuff for a small purse, but I don’t like big purses either. Things get lost in them too easily.Hello Cathy clan, and Happy New Year!! (Sorry for the late greeting :-)) I had a good trip to see my mom, although I missed you all! We moved her into an assisted living facility, so we were very busy buying and moving things for that. I sort of felt like I had a college student buying lamps and organizers and dishes. I think she is happy though and she’ll be well taken care of there.Stay warm and dry, friends! (How much snow do you have, sis?) We got snow while we were in MD, which was exciting, and we’re due to get snow tonight in GA. The big difference is that MD is prepared to handle snow (plows and salt), while GA is crippled until it melts. I bet the kids’ first day back at school will be postponed… sad.

While I’d like with all my heart to carry a MUCH smaller purse than I do on a daily basis, I just have way too much stuff I need [or may need!] in order to do it. Thankfully though, it’s nowhere near as big, over-stuffed and heavy as Cathy’s is because I constantly keep it cleaned out and organized enough to get away with going medium-sized instead.
Hi, rgcviper!
lightenup: Welcome back, soul sister! We’ve really missed you around here. Glad to hear your mom is settling nicely into her new home and will be happy there. No snow yet where I’m at but we’re expecting some later on tonight — anywhere from 1" to 8" [depending on which weather guy you believe!]. It’s currently 41° and rainy here and the low is predicted to fall all the way to 4° which, by the way, is tomorrow’s predicted high too. I am just soooooooooooooo ready to move to Florida now . . . I just wish I was married to someone who felt the exact same way I do!!! At the current time of 3:56 p.m., weather.com says it’s 75° in Tampa and a majority of the next 10 days will be in the 70’s for highs, too. I am SO envious of those lucky people who get to live there on a full-time basis!!!!!
Hello and Happy Sunday, fellow “Cathy” fans. Hope you’ve been having a nice weekend so far.

I’m a rarity; I don’t carry a purse at all. Keys and Rogue wallet in my right pocket; huge flash drive with all backup computer files (yes, I’m a geek!), pocket knife, spare change, and pill case in my left pocket. I’ve detested purses since I was a little kid, so swore that if it didn’t fit in my pockets, I didn’t need to take it with me. Pony tail and ball cap to complete my ensemble, and I’ve been doing it this way for over 40 years. I need to teach Cathy how it’s done in the real world — LOL!!!

Let’s see…spare magazines, cuffs, light, OC spray, sidearm, wallet, some loose change, knife—-yep, got it all! In my pockets or on my belt or it stays home.
