Cathy: Let's do our Christmas cards together, Mom. Mom: Great! I'll start addressing! Cathy: Oh, no. We'll use computer labels. Mom: I'll start signing! Cathy: Our names are printed inside. Mom: I'll lick stamps! Cathy: Stamps are pre-glued. Mom: Return addresses! Cathy: Pre-printed. Mom: Notes! Cathy: No notes. Cathy: Let's just do the cards! Mom: What are we going to do with them?
Nothing like pre-printed everything — right down to your signature inside the card — to show people just how little you really care about them, huh, Cathy?!?
Meanwhile, I finally got all my Christmas cards finished and mailed a couple of days ago. I send somewhere around 50 every year and it takes me about 3 off-and-on days to do them. They all get hand-addressed envelopes (no pre-printed labels of any kind!) and little personal notes are included in each and every one, along with our (non-pre-printed) signatures. It’s a real job to do but in the end, it’s worth it.
Hi, rgcviper!
lindz.coop (from yesterday): If only it were that easy! My husband doesn’t have a favorite store to shop in because he hates that chore every bit as much as I do. If he needs anything beyond the little things (like toothpaste, socks, etc.), then he shops on Amazon, but he says he doesn’t need anything right now — not even from there. I’d put money in his account to buy something with another day but that’s so impersonal (not to mention that he’s already got money there he doesn’t use now). I’m trying hard not to stress out but there’s only 11 shopping days left until Christmas and I’ve got nothing. He says he doesn’t need any more jeans or long-sleeved shirts but he may not have a choice if I can’t come up with anything else. I’m afraid that it’s stuff like this that makes me enjoy the holiday season just a little bit less with every passing year. { sigh }
Hello and Happy Saturday, fellow “Cathy” fans. Hope everyone’s having a really nice weekend so far!
