Irving: We do not dress our dogs in clothes, mother! Mrs. Hillman: Obviously! The poor babies had nothing to wear! I had to buy them play clothes, dressy clothes, little coats and hats! Irving: What? No booties?? Mrs. Hillman: Don't be ridiculous. I'd never put booties on a dog! Mr. Hillman: Their little paws don't even touch the ground when grandpa pushes them in the stroller!
Our sweet little girl only weighed around 7 or 8 lbs. and had very fine hair. She really hated wearing her sweater but when we lived in Indiana, it was pretty much a necessity to put it on her every time she went outside during the winter if she was going to be out there for any longer than just a quick pee ….. especially when there was snow on the ground, which could often be as deep as she was tall! But once we moved to Georgia, though, I don’t remember ever needing to put it on her again because the winters here are so much more milder than where we used to live. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge a little over a year ago at the age of 17 but I’ve still got that one, lone little sweater of hers — along with her bowls, beds, collar, leash, and a few of her most favorite toys — and wouldn’t dream of parting with ANY of them for anything in the world! ♥
