Mom: Look...It's right here! "Simplify Thanksgiving by buying your whole meal pre-cooked from the deli"! Cathy: WHAT?? Mom, you watch every cooking show...study every cookbook...send me thousands of recipes......And you want to buy a pre-cooked meal from the deli for Thanksgiving?? Mom: Why send a mixed message when you can send one that's whisked, julienned, marinated, parboiled and pureed? Cathy: I give up. Dad: Mother always overdoes for the holidays.
I actually rather enjoy cooking Thanksgiving dinner…we have a couple of things like dressing and sweet potato/apple casserole that we don’t eat the rest of the year. It’s kinda fun to fix…we start with the pies on Tuesday, dressing on Wednesday, turkey and veggies on Thursday. It all goes together really easily.
