Cathy: Why are we eating chocolate pretzels with Christmas sprinkles......And DON'T say it's because we don't want to hurt the giver's feelings, mom! No one gave these to us. They were a completely meaningless, holiday clearance, checkout-line impulse buy! ...And don't they deserve to be loved after sitting there with their little hopes up for so long that someone would choose them?? Mom: At least I can sleep at night knowing I raised a compassionate child.

Yes, they are about to be discarded to make room for the Valentine’s Day candy. Now Cathy needs to buy some of those just to make them feel welcome.

I just want to enter the new year with power. Yes, we are supposed to get hit with yet another ice storm tomorrow; G-d forbid it is as bad as the one on 10-26-20! Just in case, I’m going to say happy new year early! :-)

Yep, she’s compassionate as she chomps down those “poor”, “unloved” chocolate pretzels. Think of their little pretzel babies! They are now orphans! Oh the humanity! ;-)
