January 2-8 Mom: I will be a loving, restrained rock of support upon which my child can bounce her problems and solutions without fear of being bombarded by my opinions and suggestions... January 9 Mom: I will keep every morsel of unsolicited advice in the airtight chamber behind my zip-locked lips..... January 10 Mom: FINISH YOUR HOLIDAY THANK YOU NOTES! CHOP UP YOUR CREDIT CARDS! INCREASE YOUR VITAMIN D! STEAM YOUR VEGGIES! USE YOUR COASTERS! GARGLE WITH SALT WATER! GIVE MORE THANT YOU RECEIVE! sigh The weight reduction diet is tough. I wonder when “good advice” turns into nagging. I suspect it’s about half way between the sender and the receiver.

If I ever mentioned I had a sore throat in front of my mother, she made me gargle with salt water. You learned not to mention it, and stock up on Sucrets.

It is off the subject, but my Phase II confirmation for Covid-19 vaccine was sent at 03:12. I went to the link to schedule an appointment … and you can probably guess what happened – no appointments available! OSDH could do well to take some lessons from Israel who seems to be able to vaccinate many people in one day. OY! As a young friend said “at least you’re IN!!!”

The build-up was big. I knew something was coming. Then, sure enough, the explosion in the bottom center! Kudos to Cathy’s mom for caring, but still, oy …

I think someone like Cathy should learn Ameslan (or maybe just pretend to). Then she can have flailing fits instead of shouting and almost no one will understand her. :)
