It’s taken me 6 months to lose 13 pounds. I didn’t agonize about it, beat myself up about it, or deprive myself.
I push away half the carbohydrates, especially when I eat at a restaurant. I still eat the occasional single, big cookie at a bakery; I don’t buy an entire bag of cookies at the market.
I no longer “fill up my plate” nor “clean up my plate”. (Sorry, Mom, and starving children in India.) I find there is just enough sweetness and flavors in jarred 5-bean salad to take the edge off between-meal hunger. I never buy a diet book or explore click-bait fad diets.
I’m saving a lot of money on unnecessary snacks and my back pain has decreased considerably now that I have removed that permanent 13-pound fanny pack.
