A thing this strip hasn’t explored properly yet is how the French have a distinct superiority complex and consider themselves to be the best Europe has to offer… French attiudes to the rest of Europe, set against the rest of Europe’s attitude to the French, might be fun! So what about Mona and Donna being led by cirumstances on a trip aeound France’s closest European neighbours - Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium and of course the other end of Eurotunnel where there is a REAL love-hate thing going on. You have not lived until you have seen the British and the French being “good neighbours” over the shared water feature… Donna would be the straight half of the act, geting a short lesson in European harmony and customs!
And Mona could re-encounter a different brother in each nation - one is a gay diplomat in London, another an industrialist in Germany, one a fashion designer in Italy, et c. - they discover a thing they all have in common - they have all left France to put distance between themselves and the fearsome Mme. Montrois… (hmm, I wrote the anglicized “Montrose” there…)
