    I hate to sound like a pop psychologist, but the low self-esteem in the second panel probably explains why so many women won’t leave an abusive partner. It’s a comic, I know, but maybe a bit too true-to-life today. I wonder if we’ll see this arc going along that line. Shudder…

    I happened to just read this while my kids were in the room. Looking over my shoulder, my 6 year old just said “Why is that fishy sad?” (referring to Panel 2). I told him that wasn’t a fishy, that was a girl. Poor young Mona, just can’t catch a break.
