The closest thing I saw of burlesque was The Night They Raided Minsky’s. My father told me (When Mom wasn’t around) that they were great comedy clubs that just had girls between acts. Yeah, right Dad.
Now, historically burlesque was just less-expensive theater. And then it got silly, and then there were girls in flesh-colored tights…and the rest is history.
(I will now stuff my graduate studies back in their wee little box.)
