I have to say – as a kid being selected in something like that because I was actually good enough – man that was a rush! Way more meaningful to me than Thanksgiving, and as a thanks to my parents – there were a few years we had Thanksgiving on Friday instead of Thursday because of concert or meet or something. I remember those just as dearly as the others.
Over their lifetime they’ll have many Thanksgiving memories, but how many times do you get the honor of being singled out for your abilities? That’s a memory!
